Tackling the digital divide and internet misuse towards reducing inequalities
In a bid to tackle the digital divide and misuse of the internet, Digi created Yellow Heart, a platform specifically geared to deliver on the Sustainability Development Goal #10 – Reducing Inequalities. Our task was to develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure that Digi’s Yellow Heart is extended to audience that matter most.
Through synergies with ministerial and industry players, Yellow Heart created numerous tangible, impactful campaigns that focused on socio-economic issues.
This ongoing education efforts that cut across digital and on-ground, saw us helping Digi bridge the digital divide, advocate for safe internet practices especially among children and youth and create awareness of responsible business practices.
Over 600 students enrolled in Digi Academy, a STEM-focused homegrown project that teaches future skills such as coding and robotics. 1,400 rural students gained access to JomStudi, an e-learning portal that consolidated learning materials. The Yellow Heart Cyber Series for safe internet tips for parents and children garnered more than 1mil views.
