BMW’s Story of Visionary Mobility

Leading the charge toward electromobility in Malaysia

Challenge

Despite Malaysia’s ambition to reduce carbon emissions levels by more than 40% by 2020 and 45% by 2030, the country was still far from implementing programmes to meet this goal. Our key challenge was the nation’s mindset towards electromobility, from that of policymakers to consumers, as they have long been set on internal combustion engine.

Solution

With a powerful narrative conveyed through a stakeholder motivated strategy, we delivered the Story of Visionary Mobility for BMW Group Malaysia to galvanise the automotive industry.

The journey saw us driving key stakeholder dialogues at a national level, easing transition into electromobility with infrastructure commitment and challenging misconceptions with proof of viability.

Outcome

As a result, BMW has cemented its role as the leader in electromobility, progressively shaping the future of mobility in Malaysia. To date, it has established over 30 BMW i Charging Facilities nationwide. The Group has also delivered over 17,000 electrified vehicles since the introduction of the Story of Visionary Mobility in 2015. This campaign won Gold at A+M’s Marketing Excellence Awards 2019.
